AMD Athlon II X2 260 - Value Dual Core Processors

AMD Athlon II X2 260 is one of the most powerful dual core processors from AMD until today (2012), this processors has cheap of price and produces excellent performance for entry level desktop computer. In several years ago, AMD Athlon processors has taken control the best value processors in it's class, but today when the Sandy Bridge born, everything has changed and AMD have to do more the get the users attention because the SAndy Bridge processors has shown better performance. Now we will see the AMD Athol II X2 260 features and specs, I still loving this processors for build own desktop processors.

Athlon II X2 260 is not a newest processors from AMD, X2 260 is AM3 socket processor which it has dual core specs, 3.2GHZ of default clock speed, 2MB of memory cache and 65W of max TDP. The clock speed of X2 260 looks fast enough for playing 3D games, working or something else, now the processors also has lower of prices, it has under $60 so you can make an excellent entry level PC with low budget.

What about the performance, if I have to tell the truth, 260 is still good for doing anything, to see this processors performance I will compare it with the X2 240 version. AMD Athlon II X2 240 can playing Crysis, Battlefield 3, PES 2012, GTA IV and also Metro 2020, the specs like this

- Athlon 240 processors
- 2 GB memory DDR3
- NVIdia GT440, etc

The Athlon II X2 240 can beat the games, so if we replace it with X2 260 the games FPS results looks will be better isn't it?

Today, I have to say sorry for AMD value processors because the Sandy Bridge Pentium has shown better performance, but if you need an AMD processors for 3D gaming and low price, Athlon II X2 260 still worth to buy, all you have to do just buying cheap AM3 motherboard, 2GB or 4GB DDR3 memory, mainstream graphics card such as HD 7750 and you are ready to play, good luck
